I never had sales because I never liked them. I felt that they were unfair to customers who couldn’t be there, and also gave the wrong impression. So, why now?

Well, I’ve mentioned in recent blogs that I have been on a buying spree for over a year, buying out competitor’s inventory, etc. at favorable prices. I also made a number of successful bids at various auctions. One cannot always find such deals when it is convenient to buy, so I pounce on them when they appear. Unfortunately, I went a little overboard. We are up to our necks in inventory, to the point where we had to buy large shipping containers to store all the slabs, etc. We also wound up taking back space from one of our tenants to house even more inventory. We are stuffed, to put it mildly.

Some of you may remember when Ernie Boch, Sr. used to advertise, “WE HAVE NO MORTGAGES OR LOANS! WE PASS THESE SAVINGS ON TO OUR CUSTOMERS!!” That’s the same here at Barney & Carey! This is a one time only overstock sale, period!
