Barney & Carey Co. is looking for a skilled Full-Time Finisher to join our custom woodworking team in Avon, MA. Since 1922, we’ve built a reputation for quality craftsmanship, specialty woodworking, furniture restoration, custom millwork, and precision finishing work throughout Eastern Massachusetts.

What You’ll Work On

• Staining, sealing, topcoating, and refinishing custom woodworking projects
• Furniture restoration and refurbishing
• Custom cabinetry and millwork finishing
• Antique and heirloom furniture restoration
• Matching finishes, stains, and sheens
• Preparing surfaces through sanding, cleaning, and repair
• Working alongside skilled craftsmen, cabinetmakers, and woodworkers on one-of-a-kind projects

Our shop handles everything from custom cabinetry and mouldings to heirloom furniture restoration and architectural millwork. No two projects are the same.

The Type of Person We’re Looking For

• Experience in wood finishing, furniture refinishing, cabinet finishing, or restoration work
• Strong attention to detail and pride in quality workmanship
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Experience with stains, lacquers, sealers, paints, and topcoats
• Understanding of wood species, grain behavior, and finish techniques preferred
• Positive attitude and willingness to learn
